link for Info) Cross Plains I.S.D. will be closed on Thursday, July 2nd and Friday July 3rd in observance of the July 4th Holiday. All private non-profit schools within the boundaries of Cross Plains I.S.D. are invited
to a Title I planning meeting to be held Monday, June 10th. This meeting will be held in the Distance
Learning Lab in the Cross Plains Elementary building at 8:00 a.m. Planning will include services and areas
of student participation in the Title I program. Please call the elementary office at 254-725-6123 for further information.
The Board of Education of the Cross Plains ISD named Phil Mitchell
as the new superintendent of schools in a called meeting Friday, May
1. Mr. Mitchell has served the past six years as superintendent of Loop ISD. Mr. Mitchell has approximately 28 years experience in public school at all levels. Prior to Loop, he was a principal in the Bangs ISD for a period of ten years. Both Superintendent Mitchell and his wife Debbie are excited about moving to Cross Plains. He is planning to be in his new position by the third week of June. Cross Plains ISD has chosen Diana Dobbins as the new principal for Cross Plains 7-12 Campus for the 2009-2010 school year. Diana is originally from Coleman where she taught math for 5 years in Coleman Junior High and prior to that served as a technology/office aid in Coleman Elementary. She is currently serving as PK-12 Principal and Interim Superintendent for Novice ISD. Diana graduated from Angelo State University with her Bachelor of Science degree in May 2003 and with her master's degree in school administration in May 2008 Mrs. Dobbins is married to Les Dobbins Jr. and they have two grown sons; Aaron, a 2007 graduate of Texas A & M University and currently a grad student at Sam Houston State University; and Adam, a sophomore at Hardin Simmons University where he runs track and cross country. Diana and her Family look forward to becoming a part of Cross Plains community.
